10-year-old dies after being dragged by car in Delhi’s Badshahpur

A 10-year-old child has died after being allegedly dragged by a car in Badshahpur, the police said.

The incident took place around 4 pm on Sunday and the driver has been arrested, they added.

In his complaint to the police, the child’s father,  “I was coming from Sirohi in Faridabad with my son Anuj, 10. When I was about to turn towards my village, Badshahpur, a vehicle came from behind and hit my bike. Due to the collision, I was thrown off the motorcycle. The motorcycle and my son got entangled in the front part of the car. The driver dragged my bike and my son for some distance before stopping. The driver then got out of the car and fled. I took my son to a government hospital in Sohna for treatment, where the doctor declared him dead.”

An FIR under Indian Penal Code sections 279, 304A and 337 was registered at Sohna Sadar police station, the police said.
