6 booked for murder attempt at Gharuan

Kharar police booked six persons for a murder bid of a 19-year-old in Gharuan village. The incident happened on Saturday evening. Police arrested three accused and raids are on to nab the other culprits.

Those booked were identified as Rishiveer, Tushar, Sachin, Chann, Lucky and Mann. The accused had allegedly attacked Simranjeet Singh, a resident of Gharuan.

The complainant stated to the police that while he was going to his village, the accused stopped him and attacked him with swords.

Singh was admitted at Kharar civil hospital. Police officials said prima facie investigation indicated an enmity between the accused and the culprits and the probe was on.

Police registered a case under sections 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 307 (attempt to murder), 341 (wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapons) and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Kharar (Sadar) police station.

Three accused Rishiveer, Tushar and Sachin were arrested while the other three were on the run.
