The family of a 16-year-old school girl, who died by suicide on June 20 in the Hoskote Town of Bengaluru Rural district, has filed a police complaint against two teachers of the private school she attended for allegedly harassing the girl and abetting her death.

The complaint against the teachers was filed on June 27 after the parents learnt about the alleged circumstances which led the girl to die by suicide.

According to the complaint, the two teachers punished and rebuked the 16-year-old student several times in front of others. The punishments began after rumours of her alleged relationship with the son of one of the teachers, who too is a student of the same school, started spreading, the complaint states.

On the day the 16-year-old died by suicide, she was allegedly confined inside an empty room in the school by the teachers and later, when she came out, she was found to be in tears, the parents told the police after learning about the incident from her close friends.

Earlier, on June 17, the two teachers had lectured the student in the school after hearing rumours of her alleged relationship, the complaint further said.
