Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has announced a 6% increase in its total tractor sales for the month of June, with a total of 44,478 units sold. This growth in sales demonstrates the continued demand for Mahindra tractors and indicates a positive trend in the agricultural sector.
According to a statement released by the company, Mahindra & Mahindra had sold 41,848 tractors in June 2022, making this year’s sales figures a notable improvement. The domestic market showed significant growth, with tractor sales reaching 43,364 units, a 9% increase compared to the same period last year when 39,825 units were sold.
On the other hand, the company experienced a decline in export sales, with only 1,114 units being sold in June 2023, representing a 45% decrease compared to the 2,023 units sold in June 2022.
Despite the decline in exports, the strong performance in the domestic market has contributed to the overall growth in tractor sales for Mahindra & Mahindra. The company’s focus on providing reliable and high-quality tractors, coupled with its extensive dealer network, has helped it maintain a strong position in the market.
Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, Auto and Farm Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra, commented on the sales performance, stating, “We have witnessed a steady growth in our domestic tractor sales in June 2023, supported by a good start to the sowing season and the robust rural sentiment. However, the export volumes were impacted by the ongoing global supply chain challenges and the impact of the pandemic in certain markets.”
He further added, “We believe that our recently launched tractor models with advanced technology and superior features will help us further strengthen our market position. With the progress of the monsoon and various government initiatives to support the agricultural sector, we remain cautiously optimistic about the coming months.”
