Seeking to assert that the martyrdom of Tika Lal Taploo would not go in vain, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar Monday sought to assure the late J&K BJP leader’s family that the situation in Kashmir was “gradually improving” and progressing towards “normalcy”.
Jaishankar was part of a BJP delegation that called on Taploo’s family at their Rohini residence in Delhi under its ongoing ‘Sampark se Samarthan’ outreach programme.
“The entire Delhi BJP family is a partner in the sorrows and happiness of all the Kashmiri Pandit families settled in Delhi and you should never consider yourself alone,” Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva told the family.
First on the itinerary of the delegation was the National Institute of Technology (NIT) campus in Northwest Delhi, where the EAM held a dialogue with students and apprised them about the achievements of the Narendra Modi government over the last nine years. The delegation also visited the National Institute of Homeopathy at Narela.
“When Prime Minister Narendra Modi goes to foreign countries, he reveals the strength of 140 crore Indians… for 45 years, I have been looking after foreign affairs, but India’s impact on the global stage was never better than it is today,” he said.
“The whole world is looking at the young generation of India to make the talent pool a technology pool… When the PM says he wants to make India a developed country in 25 years, his only base is technology,” he also said.
The golden history of India, Sachdeva said at NIT, and the immense possibilities of tourism were pulling the world towards it and the youth should work to make tourism development a new industry.
