Nitin Patel, Mandaviya named BJP poll co-in charges in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh

Senior Gujarat BJP leaders, former deputy chief minister Nitin Patel and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, have been appointed as election co-in charges of the party in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, respectively.

The appointments were made public by the party in a statement issued on Friday while it named party in charges and co-in charges for the Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. All these states are going to elections later this year and barring Madhya Pradesh, all are governed by non-BJP parties.

According to the statement, Prahlad Joshi has been named as party in charge for Rajasthan with Nitin Ptael and Kuldeep Bishnoi have been made co-in charges.

For Chhattisgarh, Om Prakash Mathur has been made the BJP’s election in charge with Mandaviya as co-in charge.

For Madhya Pradesh, Union ministers Bhupender Yadav and Mandaviya have been appointed as the party’s in charge and co-in charge, respectively. In Telangana, the BJP has named Prakash Javadekar and Sunil Bansal as election in charge and co-in charge, respectively.

As far as Nitin Patel is concerned, this is first major responsibility given to him by the party after his ouster from the Gujarat government in September 2021.

Before this, he was made in charge of five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Recently, Gujarat BJP president C R Paatil had said that Patel is learning Hindi, as he has got responsibilities in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
