Days after a Faridabad man accused alleged Bajrang Dal members of forcibly taking his cattle away, police have filed an FIR against them for trying to hurt religious feelings after taking cognizance of a purported video of the incident.

The FIR was lodged at Saran police station against Bittu Bajrangi and unknown persons.

The complaint filed by sub- inspector Suresh stated, “The video has been made with the intention of insulting a religion… Bittu Bajrangi’s voice can also be heard in the video.”

An FIR under IPC sections 295A (deliberate or malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) and 34 (criminal act with common intention) has been registered in the case.

Last week, dairy farmer Jamat Ali had alleged that his 60 cows and 17 goats were taken away by Bajrang Dal men in the name of cow protection. However, on the complaint of a few villagers, an FIR was registered against Ali at Sohna police station under sections of cow slaughtering. Following this, Ali filed a complaint at Dhauj police station, naming Bajrangi.

Earlier, on Tuesday, another FIR was filed against Bajrangi under IPC section 295A at Mujesar police station after he went live on Facebook and allegedly hurled abuses against a religious community.

“Bittu Bajrangi has been provoking and instigating his fellow organisations to gather against a particular community in order to incite religious frenzy in his videos,” the FIR, registered on the complaint of SI Dharambeer, in-charge of Sanjay Colony police chowki, stated
