Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu: The Tamil Nadu government is set to roll out a comprehensive action plan for the development of state-of-the-art tech cities across the region. This ambitious project, which was initially announced earlier this year, aims to bolster the state’s technology ecosystem. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, the Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services in Tamil Nadu, disclosed this groundbreaking initiative at the Connect Coimbatore 2023 event, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and themed on ‘AI-led Business Transformation – Vision to Reality.’
In his address, Minister Thiaga Rajan unveiled the government’s plans, highlighting that suitable land parcels have already been earmarked for this transformative endeavor, with Coimbatore serving as one of the key locations. These tech cities will be designed as fully integrated complexes, encompassing residential, commercial, retail, office, and entertainment spaces. What sets this venture apart is its implementation through public-private partnership (PPP) models, ensuring efficient and sustainable development.
The Minister emphasized that an action plan for this monumental project is on the horizon and will be unveiled shortly. The development of tech cities is poised to revolutionize the region’s technology landscape, foster innovation, and provide a conducive environment for businesses and talent to thrive. This initiative underscores Tamil Nadu’s commitment to establishing itself as a technology hub, further strengthening its position on the global tech map.
