Punit K Goyal, the Co-Founder of BluSmart Mobility, has emerged as a pioneer in the clean energy and mobility sectors. Under his leadership, BluSmart has revolutionized India’s transportation landscape, offering the largest EV ride-hailing service and an expansive network of EV charging superhubs.
Since its inception in October 2018, BluSmart has secured an impressive $143 million in venture capital, a testament to its commitment to decarbonizing urban mobility. The service has completed a remarkable 280 million zero-emission kilometers, providing 8 million all-electric trips to satisfied customers. The BluSmart app boasts an extraordinary 4.9/5 rating on both Android and iOS platforms, making it the highest-rated mobility service in India.
Goyal’s contributions have not gone unnoticed. In January 2023, he was honoured with the “India-UK 75 at 75 Achievers” award by the UK Government, British Council, and NISAU UK for his outstanding contributions in the clean mobility and energy infrastructure domain. This followed an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from Aston University, UK, in July 2022, recognizing his pivotal role in advancing clean energy and mobility infrastructure.
Before BluSmart, Goyal founded PLG Clean Energy Projects, overseeing the development of an impressive 100 MW portfolio of solar power plants in India from 2014 to 2018. His endeavours earned him accolades, including the “40 under 40 Top Business Leaders” in the Clean Energy Industry and recognition as one of “India’s 100 Most Powerful Leaders” in Solar Energy.
Goyal’s journey began with the establishment of PLG Power and PLG Photovoltaic in 2008, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit at just 24. His ventures contributed significantly to India’s solar industry, manufacturing and exporting 72 MW of solar panels to Europe between 2008 and 2011. Despite industry challenges, PLG Power left an indelible mark on the solar panel manufacturing landscape.
