On 17th March 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to deliver the Valedictory Function address of the 96th Common Foundation Course at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Of Administration (LBSNAA). Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the PM will be addressing the audience via video conferencing.

During his speech, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new sports complex and dedicate the revamped Happy Valley Complex to the Nation. The Common Foundation Course at LBSNAA is a primary course in view of the standards of Mission Karmayogi, with a new instructional method and course plan.

The current batch involves 488 Officer Trainees (OTs) from 16 administrations and 3 Royal Bhutan Services (Administrative, Police, and Forest). To harness the energetic and creative spirit of the young batch, a new teaching method was designed in line with the principles of Mission Karmayogi.

Emphasis was placed on transforming the Officer Trainees from mere students or citizens into local officials through various initiatives like interaction with Padma Awardees in the spirit of “Sabka Prayas” and village visits to gain a vivid understanding of rural India. This approach enabled the trainees to understand the challenges faced by people living in remote/line areas.

The modular approach for curriculum was taken on in consonance with the principle of persistent reviewed learning and independent learning. Additionally, wellness tests were also conducted alongside health tests to help transform the ‘exam burdened student’ into a ‘healthy youthful civil servant’.

As part of their training, all the 488 Officer Trainees were given first-level training in Krav Maga and in different sports. This training will help inculcate a sense of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the trainees. The new sports complex inaugurated by the PM will provide the trainees with state-of-the-art facilities to enhance their physical fitness and mental well-being.

The revamped Happy Valley Complex, dedicated to the Nation by the PM, will provide the trainees with a conducive learning environment. The complex has been equipped with modern amenities and the latest technology to aid in the learning process. The revamped complex will also facilitate the Officer Trainees in their pursuit of knowledge and provide them with a platform to exchange ideas and interact with one another.

The Common Foundation Course at LBSNAA is an essential course for the Officer Trainees as it provides them with a strong foundation in public administration. The course equips them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and values to become efficient and effective civil servants. The new instructional method and course plan are designed to enhance the Officer Trainees’ learning experience and make them better prepared to face the challenges of the future.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the Valedictory Function of the 96th Common Foundation Course at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Of Administration is an essential event that marks the end of the Officer Trainees’ training. The PM’s address and the inauguration of the new sports complex and the dedication of the revamped Happy Valley Complex to the Nation will provide the Officer Trainees with the necessary motivation to serve the nation with utmost dedication and efficiency.
