Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday asked Pakistan to take care of the problems back home, saying that India does not need to do much to take back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Referring to Pakistan’s reaction over the Indo-US joint statement during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States, he said that it is natural that the joint statement has irked Pakistan which has accused India of diverting the world’s attention from Kashmir. “I want to clearly tell Pakistan that it will not get anything by repeatedly raising the bogey of Kashmir,’’ he added.
“Aap apna ghar sambhaliye. Jis tarah ke halaat hein wahan usmey kuch bhi jaye to acharya nahi hona chahiye’’ (You take care of your home. The kind of situation exists there, there shall not be any surprise if anything goes from it), the minister said.
“We do not need to work much to take back PoK as the demand for uniting with India will start from there only,’’ he said.
Only by illegally occupying PoK does not give Pakistan any locus standi, he said, adding that there is already a unanimous resolution passed by Parliament that it is an integral part of India. Not one, but many resolutions have been passed by the Parliament in this context, he added.
Pointing out that a sizable area of Jammu and Kashmir is under the occupation of Pakistan, he said that those living there see that people are living in peace on this side. “We feel hurt when the Pakistan Government commits atrocities on them,’’ he added.
