After starring in multiple unsuccessful projects last year, actor Akshay Kumar has had only one movie release this year, but he has a full schedule in the coming times. The actor, who recently announced that he will star in Housefull 5, was recently photographed with his family at the Mumbai airport as they left for a holiday together.

The actor was spotted with wife Twinkle Khanna and daughter Nitara at the departure gates. Looking dapper in sleeveless jacket paired with baggy pants and neon green shoes, Akshay posed for the cameramen with his family, as he protectively held his daughter’s hand and moved to the gates. Akshay and Twinkle also have a son, Aarav, who wasn’t seen with them last evening.

On Friday, Akshay announced Housefull 5, which will be directed by Tarun Mansukhani. Besides Akshay, actor Riteish Deshmukh will also return to the popular film franchise. The actor wrote on social media, “Get ready for FIVE times the madness! Bringing to y’all #SajidNadiadwala’s #Housefull5 Directed by @tarun_mansukhani See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024!”

Akshay’s last few films, such as Selfiee, Ram Setu, Raksha Bandhan and Samrat Prithviraj, haven’t performed well at the box office. In an interview with Financial Express, he had earlier shared how box office numbers effect him. “We are made or we are broken because of the box office numbers. That’s what you call hits and flops. The audiences tell us when we are right and where we are going wrong, and all that is reflected in the box office numbers because if a film does not work, that means people didn’t come to see it, which in turn means that they didn’t connect to it. And it means that’s the time for you to change,” he said.

The Housefull franchise started with 2010’s Housefull, which was followed by three sequels — Housefull 2 (2012), Housefull 3 (2016) and Housefull 4 (2019). Besides this, Akshay also has OMG 2, which will release on August 11, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, with Tiger Shroff. He will also be seen in the Hindi remake of Tamil film Soorarai Pottru.
