Anurag Kashyap has been a vocal supporter of South Indian cinema, especially the ones made by Tamil directors Sasikumar, Bala and Ameer. He paid tribute to the trio in the film Gangs of Wasseypur. Time and again, Kashyap has said that Gangs of Wasseypur was inspired by Subramaniapuram, which was the debut film of Sasikumar. The movie turned 15 today, and the Kennedy director took to Twitter to pay tribute to the film.

Sharing the poster of Subramaniapuram, Anurag wrote, “15 years to the film that inspired me so much that it led us to make Gangs of Wasseypur. Congratulations Sasi Kumar and team.”
