Lights, camera, action! Ayan Mukerji, the brilliant director behind Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, is ready to spill the tea on the next two films of the franchise. In a recent interview, Ayan revealed that the team is putting their pens to paper to write the script for Brahmastra 2 and 3, and they won’t compromise on quality. A true artiste, Ayan knows that good things take time, and he’s not willing to rush the creative process.

Brahmastra, which was released in theaters in September 2022, was a cinematic masterpiece written and directed by Ayan. Starring industry giants like Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna, and even the King of Bollywood himself, Shah Rukh Khan, the film received mixed reviews. Despite this, Brahmastra became the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year with a worldwide gross of ₹431 crore.

In an interview with News18, Ayan spilled the tea on the future of the franchise, saying, “We will make Brahmastra 2 and 3 together. The truth is we are going to take a little bit of time to write it. I know there’s a lot of anticipation. People want the (second part of the film) film to come out. But pehle achchi tarah se likhenge (first we will write it properly) without compromising it.” Ayan’s commitment to quality is truly admirable, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.

When it comes to Brahmastra’s dialogues, Ayan admits that they received some mixed reactions. However, he’s proud of the film’s success and the fact that it did well when it was released on streaming platforms. “It’s probably the highest grossing Hindi film of 2022,” he says with a smile. But even with all the success, Ayan still hears the criticism loud and clear.

Last year, Ayan spoke to Bollywood Hungama about the film’s OTT release, revealing that the team continued to work on the film to refine the sound and add some new elements. “There were a few places where I felt perhaps I had edited it too sharply,” he admitted. “I added some bits in Shiva and Isha’s love story, Isha’s pull towards Shiva, and a couple of dialogues. It’s subtle stuff. I believe that it will make the journey of the film a little smoother.”

It’s clear that Ayan Mukerji is a director who truly cares about his craft. He’s taking his time to write the next two films of the Brahmastra franchise, and he’s not willing to compromise on quality. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us in the coming years!
