Be the Shade for Our Cows: Give Them the Shelter They Deserve this Summer, an initiative by “Together We Can” Sponsored by CEO INDIA.

Together We Can

Animal lovers unite! A new campaign has been launched by an animal shelter called “Together We Can” to shelter more cows and build more shed space. The initiative is being led by Indian entrepreneur, Vivek Malik, who believes that together, we can make a difference.

The issue of stray animals, particularly cows and dogs, has been a persistent problem in India. According to livestock census data released in January 2020, there are over 5 million stray cattle and more than 35 million stray dogs in the country. Stray cattle are a nuisance to traffic in urban areas and frequently cause road accidents. They also raid crops in villages. Stray dogs, on the other hand, are often feared and seen as a nuisance by citizens and officials, leading to inhumane methods of eradication.

Vivek Malik, the founder of “Together We Can”, believes that the high share of stray cattle in the country is due to various factors, including neglect of the indigenous populations and excessive focus on crossbreeding. Through the initiative, their NGO aims to shelter both cows and dogs together and provide them with a safe and secure home. Their first physical shelter was established in 2022 at Murthal, Haryana, India, and the initiative aims to reach all states by 2028. The campaign also aims to build more shed space to accommodate more animals.

While the government struggles to protect stray animals, “Together We Can” provides a ray of hope for animal lovers. The initiative aims to create a positive impact on the lives of stray cows and dogs, and to reduce the number of animals that are forced to roam the streets.

The “Together We Can” campaign is a call to action for all animal lovers to come together and make a difference. By providing a safe and secure home for these animals, we can create a better future for all.
