Former Indian women’s cricket team captain and current member of the BCCI’s Committee of Administrators (CoA), Diana Edulji, has called on the women’s cricket team to perform to their potential despite being provided with all the necessary support by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Speaking to the media ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup, which is being held in Australia from February 21 to March 8, Edulji praised the BCCI for providing the women’s cricket team with everything they need, including top-notch facilities, support staff, and financial backing.

However, she emphasized that it was now up to the players to deliver on the field and make the most of the resources at their disposal.

“The BCCI is giving the women’s cricket team everything they could possibly need. They have top-class facilities, coaches, physios, and nutritionists. They have been given every opportunity to excel. Now it is up to them to perform and make India proud,” said Edulji.

The former captain went on to say that the women’s cricket team had made significant progress in recent years, with a number of talented players emerging from various parts of the country.

“There is no shortage of talent in the women’s cricket team. We have some excellent players who have the potential to take India to the top. But they need to perform consistently and play to their strengths,” she said.

Edulji also emphasized the importance of teamwork and unity in the team, saying that a cohesive unit was essential for success in any sport.

“In any team sport, teamwork and unity are crucial. The players need to work together, support each other, and have each other’s backs. If they can do that, they can achieve great things,” she said.

The Women’s T20 World Cup promises to be an exciting tournament, with some of the best teams in the world competing for the title. India, led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, are one of the favorites to win the tournament, and will be hoping to build on their impressive performances in recent months.

In conclusion, while the BCCI has provided the women’s cricket team with all the necessary support, it is now up to the players to perform on the field and make the most of the resources at their disposal. With talent, teamwork, and unity, the Indian women’s cricket team has the potential to achieve great things and make the country proud.
