Former Agniveers to get 10% reservation in CISF, declares government

The Union Home Ministry has recently announced a 10% reservation for former Agniveers in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). This announcement follows a similar 10% reservation made for former Agniveers in the Border Security Force (BSF) just a few days earlier. This move is part of the central government’s Agnipath scheme for recruitment in the Armed Forces.

According to the notification released by the ministry, former Agniveers will receive relaxation in the upper age limit and will also be exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test. The upper age limit for candidates of the first batch of Agniveers will be relaxed by up to five years, while other batches will receive age relaxation by up to three years.

The Agnipath scheme aims to induct young individuals between the ages of 17-and-a-half and 21 years on a four-year short-term contractual basis. This initiative has been designed to ensure a youthful profile of the Armed Forces.

The decision to provide 10% reservation to former Agniveers in CISF is expected to create more employment opportunities for this group. It is a welcome step towards increasing the representation of the community in the security forces.

The Agniveers are known for their commitment to national security and have been actively engaged in various social and welfare activities across the country. The government’s move to provide them with reservation in the security forces is a recognition of their contribution to the nation.

The exemption from Physical Efficiency Test for former Agniveers is likely to attract more candidates to apply for recruitment in CISF. This will further help in strengthening the force and providing better security to the citizens of the country.

The relaxation in the upper age limit for former Agniveers is another significant move by the government. This will help the youth who were previously unable to apply for the job due to age restrictions to now have a chance to join the CISF.

The central government’s Agnipath scheme has been welcomed by many as it provides a great opportunity for young individuals to serve their country. The scheme also promotes a youthful profile of the Armed Forces which is necessary to keep up with the changing times.
