As the DRI produced the accused in a gold smuggling case in court on Monday, District Government Pleader Surat Nayan Sukhadwala represented the prosecution right after he was discharged from the hospital following an angioplasty and a hernia operation. Acting against the doctor’s advice, Sukhadwala argued for over an hour in the court as he considered the case “important”. He requested Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate CV Rana to make arguments while sitting. “Over the weekend, I underwent a hernia operation, a root canal, and angioplasty at BAPS Hospital. After getting discharged on Monday afternoon, I remained present in the court, as the case was important. My hard work paid off as the court granted two days of remand of all accused.”

Eventually, Paatil also chanted along.
