A letter from Gita Rathwa, BJP MP from Chhota Udepur Lok Sabha constituency, alleging “corruption” in the district collectorate has left the administration embarrassed. Rathwa’s letter, addressed to Chhota Udepur Collector Stuti Charan on June 23, emerged on social media groups on Sunday. Putting forth an ultimatum of five days to complete “pending works”, Rathwa’s letter stated, “There are several complaints regarding the malpractices in the revenue and land record department of the district collectorate of Chhota Udepur. It appears that you are indifferent to it. Where should people of the district go when you are the head? There are several complaints of bribery and corruption in the revenue and land record department under your hand… Please look into the complaints within five days of this letter.” Charan or other officials from the administration are yet to respond to the allegations.
Missing in Action
The Migrant Pak Hindu Doctors Registration Aabhar Samaroh on Monday was first of such an event to mark the presence of senior leaders from BJP, VHP and RSS. However, despite their names mentioned in the invites and on the banner on the stage, Union Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya and BJP Gujarat president C R Paatil were missing from the event organised by the Migrant Pak Hindu Doctors Forum in Ahmedabad, citing their “busy schedule”. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel though marked his presence but left within a few minutes. “We got to know beforehand that Mandaviya sir was busy but Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel was to come along with the Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi. Paatilji was out somewhere,” one of the organisers said.
