Hyderabad Startup Empowers Users to Create Online Wills

Online Wills

The intricate process of drafting a comprehensive will has been revolutionized by a Hyderabad-based startup, Mitt Arv. In an exclusive interview with indianexpress.com, Vishal Mehta, Director at Mitt Arv, sheds light on the inception of this platform designed to simplify the listing of a person’s assets, facilitating efficient legacy planning.

The origins of Mitt Arv can be traced back to a poignant moment during the Covid-19 Delta wave. Vishal Mehta, a professional associated with Microsoft and based in Singapore, recalls the profound impact of a personal loss. He narrates, “When my batchmate from IIM-Calcutta passed away during the Covid-19 Delta wave, he left behind a two-year-old daughter. At that moment, my son was six months old… I trembled at that time.” This experience catalyzed Mehta’s determination to ensure a secure future for his loved ones, leading to the creation of a financial will and consolidation of his assets. However, he soon recognized the absence of an application or an uncomplicated method to accomplish this task.

Driven by this realization, Vishal Mehta teamed up with Ashwin Jain, the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Mitt Arv, to establish the startup in early 2022. The name “Mitt Arv” holds profound significance as it translates to “my legacy” in the Swedish language. The foundation of the platform rests on Mehta’s personal journey, coupled with the recognition of existing gaps in the legacy planning process.

The innovation introduced by Mitt Arv extends beyond borders and nationalities. Vishal Mehta reflects on the challenges he encountered while crafting his own will in Singapore. Unlike many other regions, Singapore lacked the concept of a nominee, necessitating the intricate task of transferring assets to India. Mehta emphasizes that this logistical ordeal inspired him to bridge the gap and develop a user-friendly platform that addresses these complexities.

However, Mehta identifies a central obstacle that individuals encounter when contemplating legacy planning – the task of meticulously documenting one’s assets. The process of creating a will, although significant, pales in comparison to the intricate task of accurately enumerating all owned assets. Mitt Arv aims to streamline this process, offering users a platform that facilitates comprehensive asset listing, thereby empowering them to secure their legacy effectively.

The operational foundation of Mitt Arv is a partnership between Vishal Mehta and Ashwin Jain, with Mehta serving as the Director of the firm. Their combined expertise and innovative mindset fuel the development of an intuitive digital space that caters to the diverse needs of users seeking to safeguard their financial legacies.

In a world characterized by rapid technological advancements, Mitt Arv’s mission resonates with individuals seeking efficient and accessible solutions for legacy planning. As the startup leverages technology to bridge gaps in legacy management, it embodies the spirit of transformation and empowerment. The platform’s user-centric approach acknowledges the challenges faced by individuals in comprehensively documenting their assets, positioning Mitt Arv as a catalyst for change in the realm of will creation.

As the story behind Mitt Arv continues to unfold, it underscores the profound impact of personal experiences on entrepreneurship and innovation. Vishal Mehta’s determination to alleviate the uncertainties surrounding legacy planning has paved the way for an inclusive platform that empowers individuals to navigate this process with ease. Through Mitt Arv, the complex task of securing one’s financial legacy transforms into a streamlined journey of empowerment and preparedness for the future.
