At the United Nations General Assembly’s Eleventh Emergency Special Session, Indian Counsellor Pratik Mathur criticised Pakistan for its support and harbouring of terrorists. Speaking during India’s ‘Right of Reply,’ Mathur stated, “Pakistan has only to look at itself and its track record as a State that harbours and provides safe havens to terrorists and does so with impunity.”

He also advised the Pakistani delegation to refer to the numerous Right of Replies that India has exercised in the past.

Mathur said, “I am taking the floor to say that India chooses this time not to respond to Pakistan’s mischievous provocations. Our advice to the delegate of Pakistan is to refer to the numerous RoRs that we have exercised in the past.”

India’s condemnation of Pakistan’s terrorist activities is not new. The two neighbouring countries have a long-standing history of hostility and have been embroiled in several conflicts, including wars over the past decades. India has repeatedly accused Pakistan of supporting and sponsoring terrorist groups that operate on Indian soil.

Pakistan, on the other hand, has denied the allegations and has accused India of committing human rights violations in Kashmir, a disputed territory between the two nations.

“He has done so to obfuscate misdeeds in his own country and to justify actions against India that the world considers unacceptable,” Indian diplomat , First Secretary Mijito Vinito, said during the ‘Right of Reply’ session following the conclusion of Friday’s UNGA addresses.

India’s criticism of Pakistan at the UNGA comes at a time when the world is grappling with the threat of terrorism, and countries are taking steps to combat the scourge. India has been at the forefront of the fight against terrorism and has been advocating for a coordinated global effort to eradicate the menace.

India’s emphasis on Pakistan’s role in terrorism is significant, as it highlights the need for nations to take decisive action against countries that support terrorist activities. The international community has increasingly recognised the link between terrorism and state sponsorship, and countries have been taking steps to hold states accountable for their role in terrorism.

India’s strong message to Pakistan at the UNGA reinforces the need for the world to come together to combat terrorism. The UNGA serves as a platform for countries to voice their concerns and engage in meaningful dialogue to address pressing global issues, including terrorism.
