JioMart Welcomes MS Dhoni as Brand Ambassador Ahead of Festive Season

JioMart, the flagship e-commerce venture of Reliance Retail (RRL), has enlisted the renowned cricketer and former Indian team captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, as its brand ambassador, just in time for the festive season. A new advertising campaign featuring Dhoni is set to launch on October 8, aimed at promoting the brand’s message of trust, reliability, and assurance.

Sandeep Varaganti, CEO of JioMart, expressed their excitement about this collaboration, stating, “We found a perfect fit in MS Dhoni as our brand ambassador with his personality representing trust, reliability, and assurance, just like JioMart.”

The forthcoming campaign is designed to celebrate life’s special moments, with “shopping” as an integral part of these festivities. Notably, non-metro regions currently account for approximately 60 percent of JioMart’s overall sales, reflecting the gradual growth and success of their efforts to democratize digital retail.

JioMart, a division of Reliance Retail, made its debut in 2020, aiming to revolutionize the e-commerce landscape in India. In its Q4 results, Reliance Retail reported that JioMart had expanded its seller base by an impressive 56 percent on a quarter-on-quarter basis. The company highlighted that JioMart achieved its best quarter, characterized by robust growth across various product categories and improvements in key operational metrics.

Dhoni, speaking about his association with JioMart, expressed his strong alignment with the brand’s values and purpose. He remarked, “I strongly identify and echo with the values that JioMart stands for, being a homegrown e-commerce brand, they are driven by a purpose to support the digital retail revolution in India.”

Highlighting the rich cultural diversity of India and its vibrant festivals, Dhoni added, “India is known for its vibrant culture, people, and festivals, JioMart’s JioUtsav campaign is an ode to the celebration of India and its people. In the past year, JioMart expanded its offerings by adopting a horizontal, cross-category approach, making a wide range of products available across various segments. The platform has successfully onboarded several Reliance-owned brands, including Urban Ladder, Reliance Trends, Reliance Jewels, Hamleys, and more. This strategic move has significantly enriched the product selection available on JioMart, ensuring a comprehensive shopping experience for customers.
