Kajol calls Shah Rukh Khan ‘the smoothest talker’: ‘He can talk me out of anything’

Kajol-starrer The Trial-Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka is all set for steaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from July 14. The show stars Kajol and Jisshu Sengupta and is directed by Suparn Verma. She plays a lawyer in the show who returns to the courtroom after her husband (played by Jisshu) is arrested for sexual and financial misdemeanours. In an interview ahead of the show’s release, Kajol spoke about husband Ajay Devgn, and friend and frequent collaborator Shah Rukh Khan.

When asked who she would like to represent her as her lawyer in a film besides actor-husband Ajay Devgn, Kajol named Shah Rukh. “Shah Rukh. Hands down I will choose Shah Rukh. He is the smoothest talker ever,” said Kajol in her in interview with Bollywood Bubble.

Kajol when on to say, “And he will be standing over there and be like ‘lines ki jaroorat nahi hai, mein bol sakta hu’ (laughs). He will stand there and he will talk me out of anything that I’ve gotten myself into. So, definitely hands-down Shah Rukh.”

A few films with which Kajol and SRK won many hearts are Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Baazigar, My Name Is Khan, and Dilwale.

Kjaol’s first web series, The Trail: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha, also stars Sheeba Chaddha, Alyy Khan, Gaurav Pandey, and Kubbra Sait. Directed by Suparn Verma and produced by Banijay Asia and Ajay Devgn Films, The Trial – Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha is the Indian adaptation of the American show The Good Wife.

Kajol played the role of Nayonika, a mother of two and a lawyer who goes back to work after a long gap, following her husband’s arrest. As she navigates her complicated personal life, she starts working as a junior lawyer.
