BBMP launches QR code scanners as one-stop contact platform to reach out to civic body officials
As part of its pilot initiative, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched installation of QR code scanners on the streets of South zone, as a one-stop contact platform/website to reach out to the civic body officials.
The project which was launched a month ago costs around Rs 15 lakh. According to zonal commissioner of BBMP South, Jayaram Raipura, there are 10,500 streets in the zone and over 7,500 QR codes have already been pasted on the road signages. The South zone consists of six assembly constituencies — BTM Layout, Jayanagar, Chickpete, Basavanagudi, Padmanabhanagar and Vijayanagar.
BJP MLA booked for barging into man’s house on Bakrid, abusing family: police
Karnataka BJP MLA Sharanu Salagar and some of his followers (about 15-25) have been booked for allegedly barging into a man’s house and abusing him along with his family claiming they were slaughtering animals on Bakrid.
Salagar is the Basavakalyan MLA in Karnataka’s Bidar district.
The victim Mehraj, 27, an electrician by profession filed a complaint on Wednesday. According to the complaint, when Mehraj was celebrating Bakrid with his family, Salagar and his followers barged into his house claiming they were slaughtering animals. Initially, the MLA claimed that the a cow was being slaughtered.
