Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over price rise and “open loot” going on in the country.
Addressing a rally at Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh where Assembly elections are due by the year-end, Kejriwal said: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very angry with me and he goes around saying that Kejriwal is distributing ‘free revdis’… but why is it bothering the PM? In Delhi, I have provided seven ‘free ki revdi’.”
The AAP convener blamed Modi for price rise while crediting himself for “bringing smiles on the faces of people with revdis”. “The state exchequer is being looted. A loan of Rs 34,000 crore to a friend of his has been waived in Mumbai, Rs 22,000-crore loan of a man from Gujarat has also been written off,” he said.
He took a dig at Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, saying that “people will forget the ‘Mama’, if AAP is given a chance to govern the state”.
Referring to the Vyapam scam, Kejriwal said politicians have brought a bad name to Madhya Pradesh. “Modiji is letting his ‘businessmen friends’ loot the country, and…innocent people are being made to suffer,” he said.
He also pointed out “poor policy decisions” taken by the Modi government. “The BJP-led Centre has made a mess of our country. They went for demonetisation… to end corruption. I want to ask the people – has corruption ended? They even claimed that it will end terrorism, but no such thing happened,” he said.
