Kohli looked in fine touch, scoring a well-crafted 54 off 41 balls, which included five fours and a six. De Villiers, too, played some delightful strokes, scoring 42 off 27 balls, which included four fours and two sixes.
But the RCB middle order failed to capitalize on the start provided by Kohli and de Villiers, as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Andre Russell was the pick of the KKR bowlers, picking up three wickets for 27 runs, while Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine chipped in with two wickets each.
In the end, RCB fell short of the target, managing to score only 168 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. KKR’s comprehensive victory helped them climb up the points table, while RCB will be disappointed with their performance, especially after their good start in the chase.
