The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, has achieved a significant milestone by recording 100% placement for its graduating students during the academic year 2022-23. The institute received a staggering total of 1534 job offers from 330 reputed companies, reflecting the strong demand for its talented pool of graduates. Notably, over 95% of the placed students hailed from the flagship BTech programme, a testament to the excellence of NIT Rourkela’s engineering education.

The institute’s commitment to nurturing and empowering its students for successful careers is evident through its exceptional placement results. Several departments witnessed complete placement of registered students, including Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, and the dual degree program in Mining Engineering and Ceramic Engineering.

Among the standout achievements, a remarkable total of 24 students secured impressive packages exceeding Rs 50 lakh per annum. Within this cohort, eight students achieved the highest package of Rs 52.89 lakh per annum, a remarkable accomplishment for both the students and the institution. The average overall Cost to Company (CTC) increased to Rs 12.95 lakh per annum, surpassing the previous year’s average of Rs 11.15 lakh per annum. In particular, the average CTC for the BTech program surged to Rs 14.22 lakh per annum.

The Computer Science Engineering department stood out with an impressive average CTC of Rs 21.87 lakh per annum, showcasing the high demand and premium placed on tech-related skills in the industry. Additionally, the Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering department secured an average CTC of Rs 18.12 lakh per annum, while Electronics and Communication recorded Rs 17.97 lakh per annum, and Electrical Engineering followed closely at Rs 14.55 lakh per annum.
