NMIMS University and Binghamton University Forge a Path for Innovative Engineering Education Partnership


NMIMS University has announced a groundbreaking partnership with New York-based Binghamton University, poised to revolutionize engineering education in India. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signifies a collaboration between NMIMS’s Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering (MPSTME) in Mumbai and Shirpur, as well as the School of Technology Management & Engineering (STME) in Indore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Navi Mumbai.

Under this visionary partnership, the two prestigious institutions will offer a unique 3.5+1.5 degree program, allowing students to spend three and a half years at NMIMS’s campus and the remaining one and a half years at Binghamton University’s campus in New York. Upon successful completion of this five-year program, students will earn a graduation degree from NMIMS and a post-graduation degree from Binghamton University.

This collaboration promises a multitude of opportunities for students, including research projects, advanced courses in their chosen fields, exposure to diverse learning environments, and the chance to gain a global perspective. Additionally, students have the option to pursue their master’s degree in New York, where the additional courses they completed during the program will expedite their studies. These courses also offer flexibility, should students choose to pursue their master’s degree at a different institution.

Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar, Pro Vice-Chancellor at NMIMS, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its transformative impact on engineering education. Dr. Krishnaswami Srihari, Dean of Thomas J.
