‘Only in Bengaluru’: Preschool offers ‘entrepreneurship programme’, netizens have questions

[ad_1]

In recent decades, Bengaluru has established itself as a city of start-ups and entrepreneurs. Now, it appears that even schools in the IT capital of India are trying to cash in on the start-up culture by offering an ‘entrepreneurship programme’ for preschoolers.

On Monday, a Twitter user Bhavana (@Bhavana_MA), shared a photo of an advertisement for a kids ‘entrepreneurship programme’. While sharing a picture of this ad, Bhavana wrote, “Saw this outside a preschool (!) in HSR. Can happen only in Bangalore @peakbengaluru”.

HSR stands for Hosur Sarjapura Road Layout, a suburb in southeastern Bengaluru.

This tweet has sparked a conversation about the need for such programmes for preschool kids who are usually between the ages of three to six.

Commenting under this tweet, a Twitter user asked, “Right after graduation will you get funding? ”. Another person asked, “Do they have a startup incubation cell?”. Another Twitter user jokingly observed, “That’s why HSR has so many Startups ”.

Residents of Bengaluru, especially those who work in the IT industry, often mythologise the entrepreneurial nature of the city and now brands and businesses have also bought into this sentiment.

Earlier this month, Twitter user Pooja Singh (@pooja1place) shared a picture, reportedly from Bengaluru airport, that showed a passenger boarding a bridge of IndiGo Airlines with “Common ramp for the founders and their funders” written on it.
