A passenger aboard an Air India flight from Mumbai to Delhi last week was held by the Delhi Police for allegedly urinating, spitting and defecating inside the cabin, officers said.
An FIR in the case was lodged on June 24 at IGI police station by the complainant, Captain Varun Sansare, who stated that flight AIC 866 was in the air when a passenger, seated on 17F, spat and urinated inside the aircraft.
The passenger was identified as a resident of Uttarakhand.
The complainant said that the misconduct was observed by the cabin crew of the flight following which a verbal warning was issued and “the passenger was secluded from the surrounding passengers.”
When the flight arrived in Delhi, the head of Air India security took the passenger to the police station. He was arrested and a case under IPC section 294 (Obscene acts and songs) and 510 (Misconduct in public by a drunken person) was lodged. The accused has been granted bail.
