Procter & Gamble India, a leading multinational consumer goods company, has announced its plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore in the establishment of a state-of-the-art personal healthcare manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The investment was unveiled by LV Vaidyanathan, CEO of P&G India, following a meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. This strategic move aims to expand P&G India’s manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its presence in the region.

The new facility will be built upon P&G India’s existing manufacturing footprint, which already includes eight plants spread across the country. With the addition of this manufacturing unit, P&G India will further enhance its operations in Gujarat, where it already operates a successful manufacturing plant in Sanand, Ahmedabad, since 2015.

Spanning across a sprawling 50,000 square meters in Sanand, the new facility will primarily focus on the production of products in the digestives and wellness segments. These products are an integral part of P&G’s global healthcare product portfolio. The company’s decision to invest in this new manufacturing site demonstrates its commitment to catering to the evolving healthcare needs of consumers and expanding its product offerings in India.

The manufacturing facility will be equipped with cutting-edge technology and designed to be fully automated. It will incorporate advanced vision systems for quality checks, robotic equipment for seamless material movement, and operator cockpits to ensure operational efficiency. The state-of-the-art infrastructure and automated processes will enable P&G India to maintain high production standards and deliver superior quality products to consumers.

An important aspect of this new facility is its role as an export hub, contributing to India’s position in global markets. P&G India recognizes the potential for expansion beyond domestic boundaries and aims to leverage the manufacturing unit to meet the demands of international markets. The company’s decision to establish the export hub aligns with the government’s vision of promoting India as a global manufacturing hub and enhancing export capabilities.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed his appreciation for P&G India’s investment in the state, acknowledging the longstanding association between Gujarat and the company through its existing plant in Sanand, Ahmedabad. Patel emphasized that the expansion of P&G’s operations in Gujarat serves as a testament to the state’s immense potential, opportunities, and industry-friendly environment. He welcomed the investment, highlighting the positive impact it will have on the local community and the state’s overall economic growth.

The establishment of this new manufacturing facility in Gujarat reflects P&G India’s confidence in the state’s business-friendly environment and its commitment to strengthening its presence in India. The investment not only contributes to Gujarat’s industrial growth but also generates employment opportunities and supports the development of local communities.

Procter & Gamble India’s expansion in Gujarat signifies the company’s dedication to innovation, quality, and consumer satisfaction. By leveraging advanced technology and automation, P&G India aims to uphold its reputation as a market leader in the personal healthcare segment and continue delivering exceptional products to consumers both in India and overseas.

As P&G India moves forward with its investment plans, the company is poised to make significant contributions to the economic growth of Gujarat and reinforce its position as a key player in India’s consumer goods industry.
