Police arrest hotel owner for running narcotic racket

The Chandigarh Police on Sunday arrested the owner of a hotel at Kajheri who was running a narcotic racket. The manager of the hotel was already arrested.

The team of Sector 36 police station arrested the accused identified as Parveen Garg, owner of Hotel K D Residency. The police also recovered 14.30 gm heroin from the accused.

Police officials said that the accused is a habitual offender and was earlier booked in two cases of drug peddling at Zirakpur (Punjab) and Sector 36 police station.

On June 18, a drug peddling case was registered and the police arrested Anil Kumar, manager of Hotel K D Residency hotel.

During Anil Kumar’s interrogation, it came to light that the kingpin of the racket was Parveen Kumar and he used to get the drugs from Delhi and Punjab, and sell in the city in small pouches.
