Pooja Bhatt is the ’cause of all negativity’ on Bigg Boss OTT, Salman Khan ‘biased’ for bringing up divorce with Nawazuddin Siddiqui: Aaliya Siddiqui

In a shocking twist, Aaliya Siddiqui was ousted from Bigg Boss OTT 2 on Tuesday evening. The estranged wife of Nawazuddin Siddiqui was nominated alongside Jiya Shankar, and it was announced that she got lesser votes. Aaliya shared that she was upset about this mid-week elimination, however, seeing the love people have for her, felt like a victory in itself.

In an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com, the filmmaker shared that she holds Pooja Bhatt responsible for her eviction. Calling the actor and her group negative, Aaliya shared, “They cannot see good in anything. Pooja ji has achieved so much in life yet she is so bitter and negative about others. She kept on targeting me that I am trying to hide a side of mine. When the reality is that I am a little reserved person and I take time to open up. I cannot fight or talk ill about others for the camera like them. I really don’t know what issue she had with me. I was strong enough to call her out and nominate her when needed. To be honest, everything wrong, especially the negativity in the house is because of her. She is the leader of that group and needs to be evicted.”

Calling the show biased for pushing Pooja Bhatt and co. in the game, Aaliya shared that she is happy that audiences can at least see through this. She shared that during nominations, Pooja attacked her and accused her of playing the victim card, when she herself keeps using her father Mahesh Bhatt’s name in the game. “She used such a big statement for me and when I defended myself, she proudly said ‘main Mahesh Bhatt ki beti hu‘. Why would you do that? She herself is an actor and director and has been a star in her time. Why can’t she play the game on her own merit? When you need to drop names, you cannot point fingers at me. I was in the game on my own, to find my own identity beyond being Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife but she was questioning me. It’s so unfair,” an angry Aaliya said.

The evicted contestant also seemed upset at Salman Khan’s statement during Weekend Ka Vaar. The host had told Aaliya that she shouldn’t be talking about her marital issues on the show and should 0set her own narrative. The filmmaker said that she had only spoken about her personal life twice as others wanted to know more about her. Given Salman and Nawazuddin have worked together (Kick and Bajrangi Bhaijaan), she felt that the Bollywood star took her estranged husband’s side.

“Salman ji bilkul biased ho ke bole. Waha ek star ne ek star ka support kiya hai (He was totally biased there; he supported his colleague). That shows how one uses their power against others. I am not scared to say this as I know I wasn’t wrong. Everyone on the show talks about their past, their lives. Pooja ji has, Falaq Naaz spoke about her brother and his time in jail. There is only much you can talk about. I had bonded with Abhishek Malhan and he wanted to know about me. I never spoke ill about anyone,” Aaliya added.

Before her eviction, Aaliya Siddiqui also had a showdown with friend-turned-foe Bebika Dhurve. Calling her negative too, she said Bebika tried to publicly shame her for forgetting her used sanitary napkin in the washroom. “Bebika used the same to humiliate me in front of so many people and even cameras. I had just exited after washing clothes and it slipped my mind to pick it. She said I did it to torture Pooja as she was on cleaning duty. If I really had to torture someone, I would have used my tongue. It was so cheap of her to use that against another woman.”

While Aaliya Siddiqui doesn’t regret her decision to be on Bigg Boss, she shared that she is appalled at people’s personalities. She shared that living with them under the same roof was really difficult for her, and she even had a panic attack. “I couldn’t believe that people have so much hatred against others. Even after I came out, I couldn’t sleep properly. I haven’t even spoken to my kids properly or my family as I was so mentally disturbed. These 12 days have been a life-changing experience for me. All these 40 years, I never learnt about human mentality as much as I did in this house. I had seen such kitchen politics on television serials but these are real people, bickering and gossiping about others all day long. They were just too toxic.”

On a final note, Aaliya Siddiqui mentioned how she does feel that only an honest person can win this show. However, she also understands what one has to go through in the house. “I am putting my bet on Abhishek as he is such a darling person, and has the courage to stand for the right. I just hope the audiences support him and help him win the show.”
