The Indian Government announced that 2 crores 18 lakh pucca houses have been completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) as of March 11th.
In response to a written question in the Rajya Sabha, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, the Minister of State for Rural Development, stated that the scheme had sanctioned 2 crore 85 lakh pucca houses to beneficiaries in States and Union Territories, out of a total of 2 crore 94 lakh houses allotted to them. The Government has set a target of constructing 2 crore 95 lakh pucca houses with basic amenities by March 2024.
