Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani: Alia Bhatt shot for Tum Kya Mile four months after welcoming Raha

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani brought Karan Johar back to the director’s chair after a gap of seven years. In various interviews, the filmmaker stated that he wanted this movie to be a visual spectacle, and fans got a glimpse of the same when the film’s song “Tum Kya Mile” was released. Now, the makers have shared a behind-the-scenes video showcasing the hard work and challenges involved in shooting the song, especially in the snow-clad mountains of Kashmir.

The BTS clip begins with a voiceover by Ranveer Singh, who describes the essence of the song, stating, “There’s a certain lyricism to it.” He adds, “Every Karan Johar film has a sparkling love song, and in our film, it’s Tum Kya Mile.” Alia Bhatt joins in, describing “Tum Kya Mile” as a quintessential ode to the love songs of Yash Chopra. The picturesque landscape of Kashmir also plays a vital role in adding to the visual appeal of the song.

Alia also shared her experience of shooting the song, mentioning that it was her first love song filmed in a chiffon saree. The actor revealed that she had to shoot the song just four months after delivery her daughter Raha. “When I see the final result, I feel so happy. I can proudly say that I did this song four months after a baby. So, I really prepped myself up for this. I really wanted it to be outstanding,” Alia said.

After the release of “Tum Kya Mile”, Karan Johar apologised to Alia Bhatt for making her endure the cold weather He wrote on Instagram, “This is also the first shoot Alia did after the birth of her angel and I remain in apology for freezing her in Manish Malhotra chiffons … in sympathy I fell drastically ill through the shoot ( a karmic punishment perhaps ) Ranveer was nervous as this was his first lip sync mountain love song but he was a real trooper.”

“Tum Kya Mile” is choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant, who also received praise from Karan in the BTS clip. The song is crooned by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. Pritam has composed the music, while Amitabh Bhattacharya has penned the lyrics.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani will release in theatres on July 28.
