During an interview with India Today, Shefali expressed her thoughts on the lack of good offers coming her way despite her recent success. When asked if her recent achievements resulted in more good roles being offered to her, she responded, “I was expecting it, and I am expecting it, but I think what has happened after this year and all the releases is whatever role they must have thought of me has also stopped, because now they think we cannot go to her with a filler. I have heard this from writers and directors that they are writing stuff for me, which is great, but it also means that it might a wait for me again to do the kind of roles I want to.”

Shefali’s personal experience and her performance in Monsoon Wedding are powerful contributions to the conversation around this issue, and her bravery in speaking out will undoubtedly inspire others to do the same. It is important to continue this conversation and work towards creating a safer, more respectful environment for everyone.
