Sunny Garg: Young Entrepreneur Making Waves in the Indian Real Estate Market

Sunny Garg, the former Co-Founder and CEO of YourShell, has emerged as a dynamic entrepreneur in the Indian market, leaving an indelible mark since his teenage years. With a strong passion for helping people and a strategic mindset, Garg successfully steered YourShell, a student accommodation brand that he co-founded at the age of 19, into becoming a prominent player in the industry.

Garg’s entrepreneurial journey has been nothing short of impressive, marked by a series of notable achievements. At the age of 19, he raised his first funding from Standup India, showcasing his ability to attract investment at a young age. By the age of 22, Garg accomplished a remarkable feat by selling YourShell at a multi-million dollar valuation, solidifying his reputation as a shrewd entrepreneur with a keen eye for business opportunities.

Sunny Garg’s expertise and accomplishments have earned him recognition on various platforms. He has spoken at over 100 events, including prestigious platforms such as TEDx and Josh Talks, where he shared his entrepreneurial insights and experiences. Garg’s achievements have also been featured in more than 125 publications, including renowned media outlets such as Forbes, YourStory, Hindustan Times, and The Economic Times. Furthermore, he has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the ET Real Estate: Housing Project of the Year Awards in 2020.

Building upon his previous success, Sunny Garg has recently embarked on a new venture called Crib, founded in 2022 alongside Shaifali Jain and Archit Chauhan. Crib is a digital ecosystem that connects landlords, tenants, and entrepreneurs. For landlords, the platform offers a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution that enhances operational efficiency, streamlines financial processes, and boosts sales. Tenants, on the other hand, benefit from a user-friendly platform that allows them to explore and book rental properties while enjoying exclusive discounts.

In a recent development, Crib has successfully raised Rs 15 crore in its seed round of funding, with We Founder Circle and Rebright Partners co-leading the investment. The round attracted participation from more than 50 founders and tech operators, including notable industry figures such as Vijay Shekhar Sharma (CEO of Paytm), Kunal Shah (CEO of Cred), and Ghazal Alagh (Co-Founder of Mamaearth), among others. This significant investment demonstrates the confidence and trust placed in Garg and his team.

Crib has rapidly gained traction in the Indian market since its launch, establishing a strong presence in over 10 cities, including Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi NCR. Presently, the platform hosts more than 500 landlords managing up to 100,000 rental units, generating an impressive annual rental revenue of Rs. 900 crore. This growth highlights the effectiveness of Crib’s SaaS platform and its ability to revolutionize the rental housing sector in India.

To foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and self-reliance among students and early working professionals, Crib recently launched the #BeAnEntrepreneur campaign. This initiative aims to inspire and empower the younger generation to embrace entrepreneurship and take control of their future. By building a robust digital infrastructure, Crib seeks to support upcoming property owners and provide them with the ultimate property solution.

Neeraj Tyagi, Co-Founder of We Founder Circle, expressed his confidence in Garg and his team, citing their professional growth over the past six years and their unwavering passion for the housing industry as key factors in their ability to excel in the market.

With Sunny Garg’s visionary leadership and the innovative solutions offered by Crib, the Indian real estate landscape is poised for transformation, providing landlords, tenants, and entrepreneurs with a seamless digital ecosystem
