Actor Tamannaah Bhatia, known for her roles in ensemble films like Baahubali, recently shared her perspective on feeling validated for her performance in the Prabhas starrer. Contrary to popular opinion, Tamannaah expressed that she does feel validated and said that she is secure as an actor. However, she also highlighted the issue of pay parity in the industry and discussed her experiences dealing with male egos. Bhatia portrayed the character of Avantika in the film Baahubali

Talking about starring in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali, the actor said in a conversation with Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story, “I feel, but actually I feel very validated from that film. The reason being, that film actually got me into the minds of really young kids because a lot of really young kids watch Baahubali. They still think I’m the butterfly girl, and there are so many things about that film.’”

She added, “In some films, you don’t just need to hog center stage. I mean, I’ve done a lot of ensemble work in my career. Strangely enough, my first big success was an ensemble again, Baahubali happened to be one. I’m very secure as an actor. I know my skill and the impact I have on screen. I’ll get five scenes. I will do it to such perfection that people will remember me.’”

When asked, “But do the men have it easier? Do they get more money?” The actor said, “They definitely get a lot more money, which is… you know, the pay parity is something that I have not been able to wrap my head around because women also bring in so much, and that difference is stuck at this point.” Bhatia added, “I mean, there is a hierarchy that exists. I see it in every… if one person comes with a crazy attitude, then you’re in deep trouble. They are largely male egos. But I still feel like it’s… every… I’ve seen it with women also.”

The actor was recently seen in the film Lust Stories 2 opposite Vijay Varma. She was also seen on the web show Jee Karda.
