Vice-chairman of Amul is now treasurer of BJP Kutch unit

The BJP on Wednesday appointed Valamji Humbal, incumbent vice-chairman of dairy giant Amul, as the treasurer of the Kutch district unit of the party.

Humbal hails from Anjar taluka of Kutch and has been serving his second term as the vice chairman of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets dairy and agricultural products under the brand name of Amul.

He is also the chairman of the Kutch District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited, popularly known as Sarhad Dairy.

Before being appointed treasurer of the BJP’s Kutch district unit by newly-appointed president Devji Varchand, Humbal was the general secretary of the district unit.
