Amid condemnation of the act of the woman by fellow villagers, the security personnel of the MLA is shown to immediately move in to protect the legislator. When asked about the incident, Ishwar Singh told The Indian Express: “She raised her hand on me…It was like an assault. But I have not lodged a complaint as it would not be appropriate on my part.”

Ishwar Singh said, “An embankment was breached because of pressure of water, which led to floods in the village and its fields. What is the fault of an MLA in it?” According to the legislator, the villagers were saying that the embankment should have been built properly.
