This victory has brought SRH to the eighth position with one win and two losses in three matches and two points. PBKS, on the other hand, has slipped to the sixth position with two wins and a loss in two matches and four points.

In pursuit of the target of 144 runs, SRH lost two wickets for 45 in the ninth over, giving Punjab hopes of a comeback. However, Tripathi (74 not out off 48 balls) and Markram (37 not out off 21 balls) played a brilliant innings and clinched the deal for Hyderabad with their fantastic partnership.

Before SRH’s magnificent comeback, Punjab Kings’ skipper Shikhar Dhawan stood tall among the ruins with a 66-ball unbeaten 99 that lifted his team’s score to 143 for nine. Spinner Markande did the star turn with figures of 4 for 15, leaving Punjab Kings reeling at 88 for nine in the 15th over. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Dhawan showed his teammates how to do it with his incredible knock, hitting 12 fours and five sixes.

The other batters cut a sorry figure, with Sam Curran being the only other player to reach double digits with a score of 22.

Mayank Markande was the star performer for the Sunrisers with figures of 4 for 15. The spinner took four wickets and left the Punjab Kings reeling at 88 for nine in the 15th over. The pace duo of Marco Jansen and Umran Malik also chipped in with two wickets each.

With this win, the Sunrisers climbed up to the eighth position in the points table with one win and two losses in three matches, and two points. The Punjab Kings slipped down to the sixth position with two wins and a loss in two matches, and four points.

In terms of lineups, the Punjab Kings went in with Shikhar Dhawan as the captain, Prabhsimran Singh, Matthew Short, Jitesh Sharma, Shahrukh Khan, Sam Curran, Nathan Ellis, Mohit Rathee, Harpreet Brar, Rahul Chahar, and Arshdeep Singh. The Sunrisers, on the other hand, had Mayank Agarwal, Harry Brook, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram as the captain, Heinrich Klaasen as the wicketkeeper, Washington Sundar, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, Umran Malik, and T Natarajan in their playing XI.
